Glenn County’s Substance Use Disorder Services will be hosting it’s 20th annual event called “Recovery Happens.” It’s an annual event to celebrate recovery from substance use and reduce stigma. It is usually in conjunction with SPEAKS (Suicide Prevention Empowerment Awareness Knowledge & Stigma Reduction). This year we will celebrate separately and focus on giving each town an event. Recovery Happens will take place on September 19, 2024 at Jensen Park in Willows, CA by the large gazebo from 2PM-6PM. Please join us and enjoy the event by connecting with local resources, listen to live speakers, food and much more! We are implementing a ‘Micheal Jordan Memorial Poetry Slam’ in honor of our beloved Michael Jordan, and the message of Recovery he carried. We are encouraging clients, community members and staff to submit poetry, a rap, or a spoken word, etc. to be showcased at our event.
